Mandated

Mandated
By Jordy Leigh

She’s a teen, not a survivalist.  He’s a villain, not a hero.  Louise steadied herself by exhaling slowly.  Canada, September 2016 – A refugee of war, Louise Stella has been forced into the forests of Quebec to fend for her life.  Alone.  She survived the first week on the wings of a miracle, as it would seem.  Now she needs concrete resolutions to the challenges of food and water.  Then there’s the unconscious stranger – the mysterious man who burst onto the scene a week ago to rescue her from her would-be kidnapper.  But he’s not who he seemed to be and Louise reluctantly assumes the mission of loving the unlovable after the model of her Heavenly Father.  Mandated is a Young Adult suspense novella with high stakes looming about every dilemma.  It will have you questioning what it means to truly love.  Would you make the same choices as Louise?

Mandated is the second novella in a four-part series of Young Adult (YA) Survivalist Suspense.  (The first being Isolated).  It is recommended for an audience aged 14-24.  The content is free of swearing or strong language, and sexual references.  The story takes place during a (non-historical) time of war.  It references suicidal attacks, an idea which may be disturbing to some readers.  The author has chosen to emphasize the reaction of the protagonist rather than to capitalize on graphic descriptions.  This book reflects the beliefs and worldviews to which the author holds.  She has endeavored to keep all aspects of the book in line with what she sincerely believes to be true about God, His Word and His world.
